When We All Say Yes

When We All Say Yes

When we practice believing that there’s room for every woman at the proverbial table, it sounds a lot like “YES.” Lots and lots of yes’s. YES to truly, deeply celebrating when other women succeed, triumph, and achieve. Celebration, without repressed resentment and fear. Support, without comparison and competition. Hope, because you know that if it was possible for them, it’s possible for you, too.

Where does the shift from scarcity to celebration come from? It starts with (and always comes back to) Self-Love. When you settle into knowing that who you are, what you can do, how you feel, and what you have to contribute is a niche no one else in the world can own – it matters less and less that other women “seem” to be taking all the opportunities allotted.

There is no chance, no chance everthat your place can be taken away. Because you’re the only one who can fill it. It’s attuned to your soul only, and it contains a critical piece of our wholehearted humanity that only you can provide. #SoulService

It can be so stupidly difficult to believe this, though – when we’re surrounded on all sides (and the past, and fear of it being true in the future) by a culture that values productivity and measurable results as the only valid currency for true value. AND (as Queen Brené Brown says) uses exhaustion as a status symbol in our endless race to the top. The top of what? You know what’s up there?

Nothing. (Which can be learned from this this awesome book if you’d like to save yourself the arduous trip.) You’re also alone, and that’s not what we, as social creatures (even the anti-social introverted agoraphobic beings) really need for thrival. (Survival + Thrive = THRIVAL. #MadeUpWordsAreTheJam).

Is shifting from this engrained truth hard? You bet your sweet ass. But the transformation lies in the practice. The practice of believing the women around you actually mean the generous things they say + do…the practice of change…the practice, of saying #Yes.

We are so grateful to continue serving with those saying #Yes with us right now. Always, it comes back to the women who show up for themselves and each other #Tribe <3. Out in the wide world this year, we’ve connected with Hope Avenue Boutique who celebrates #BabesWhoBoss and whose belief + support in us challenged us to rise up to meet them. This month, we’ve partnered up with Raven + Lily, an ethical fashion + lifestyle brand created to alleviate poverty among women, and dedicated to empowering women through jobs by design. They’re donating 10% of proceeds to us, House Of Your Heart this Saturday, June 30th (online + in-store). We will be at their flagship store in #ATX from 11am-3pm serving FREE mimosas + cupcakes (donated by the deliciously edible Nothing Bundt Cake – Austin-North-Arboretum store shoutout!).

Every #Yes we say to each other honors the space we hold + solidifies the new belief that there’s room for all. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. #Practice #DoItAllForTheWomen

How do you get more #Yes in your life? Ask. First (because we always start within), ask yourself where you’re telling yourself no…

Then open up that throat chakra + use that brilliant voice! Your asks might be around what you need, feelings pent up and needing to be shared, sheer venting so you can find your truth within it, difficult convos around work, family, or community, all of the above or none of it! Bottom line is that it’s so uncomfortable to ask, share, show up, put yourself out there. But without the vulnerable ask, there can be nothing but “no.” Here’s to hedging our hearts on #Yes.

And no matter how many no’s there may be along the way, we will always be a #Yes for you. #ThisIsHowWeHOYH #WeAreHOYH #SheSoHOYH
